In previous classes several stone setting techniques were covered including prong, flush and bezel setting techniques. During this session smaller gems are used, and additional techniques covered.  In this advanced metal clay fabrication module you will learn:
This short course is a module of the JDMIS Advanced Certificate in Jewellery Fabrication using Metal Clay. For information about how this course fits into a complete jewellery education, visit our Continuing Education Roadmap
  • How to set 2mm, 3mm and 4mm faceted stones with ease.
  • Flush-setting and setting in place,
  • How to encrust, or cover the surface of the silver with gems.
  • The pros and cons of working with small gems.

* This program includes all materials needed. Students may make use of classroom equipment during class and practice sessions.

This advanced module has prerequisites - it is only open to graduates having completed the Foundation Certificate in Jewellery Fabrication using Metal Clay.
